What is Origano Derm cream?
Origano Derm is a cream with organic wild oregano oil (Origanum minutiflorum) – a natural oregano cream for skin fungus and bacterial skin changes. The main active compound of wild oregano oil is carvacrol, a monoterpene phenol with a strong antiseptic action: it damages the membrane of bacteria and fungi and stops their growth.
The cream is intended exclusively for external use on intact skin. It is suitable for skin in folds – under the arms, under the breasts, between the toes and in the groin – where fungi and bacteria most often develop, and for soothing the skin after mosquito and other insect bites. Origano Derm contains no antibiotics.
What is Origano Derm used for – oregano cream for skin fungus
- skin fungus – Candida on the skin in folds, under the breasts and between the toes, as well as ringworm and athlete’s foot, caused by dermatophyte fungi;
- bacterial skin changes – involving Staphylococcus or Streptococcus;
- redness and itching in the groin and skin folds – together with proper hygiene and keeping the skin dry;
- mosquito and insect bites – soothes itching, and the scent of wild oregano repels insects.
For nail fungus and Candida, it is useful to combine the cream with internal use of wild oregano oil. If the changes do not go away or spread, see a doctor – every skin change should be checked.
What research on Origano Derm cream shows
Origano Derm was tested twice at the Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković”, University of Belgrade (January 2019 and April 2022), and compared with the most commonly used topical antibiotics and antifungals. In laboratory (in vitro) conditions, the cream acted bacteriostatically and bactericidally – it stopped the growth of and destroyed the tested bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) – and a higher concentration completely stopped the growth of all tested skin fungi.
Tested microorganisms
- Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 11632)
- MRSA
- Staphylococcus epidermidis (IBIS 2999)
